I purchased this booklet from the shop at Shibden Hall. It is a concise little publication and goes into interesting details about the estate, its features and legacy left by Anne Lister.

I learned that much of the material in the Hall was present during Anne's time there and that much of /5. Anne Lister () was a well-off Yorkshire landowner, diarist and traveller. Throughout her life she kept diaries which chronicled the details of her everyday life, including her lesbian relationships, her financial concerns, her industrial activities and her work improving Shibden Hall/5.

The three families' armorial symbols are recorded in a stone-mullioned light window at the hall. For years (c. –) the Shibden estate was in the hands of the Lister family, wealthy mill-owners and cloth merchants, the most famous resident being Anne Lister (–), who became sole owner of the hall after the death of her on: Lister’s Road, Halifax, West.
